Research from Italy is a warning to modern humans: from tens, hundreds of thousands of years ago, 3 human species fell into extinction due to climate change!

The work led by evolutionary biologist Dr Pasquale Raia of the University of Naples Federico II (Italy) relied on paleontological data and models to see how species of the genus were reacting like  and how to the fluctuations of the Earth's climate.

Fearsome cause for disappearance of 3 human species who used to live in parallel with us

Earth used to have many humans living together, but now most of them are extinct, except us / ph: internet

As many previous studies showed, the genus Homo includes many species, in which at least 6-7 other human species once existed parallel to Homo sapiens (modern humans, us) in a period of time.  Homo sapiens is the oldest "young" species, only appearing about over 300,000 years but is the only species not extinct of the genus Humans.

Dr. Raia's team has calibrated climate data over the past few million years with the distribution location and chronology of six species of Homo, including us, Homo habilis, Homo ergaster, Homo erectus, Homo.  heidelbergensis and Neanderthals (Homo neanderthalensis).

The results show that the three extreme changes of the Earth when transitioning between the ice ages and global warming are closely related to the last 3 appearances in Homo erectus, Homo.  heidelbergensis and the Neanderthals.

Homo erectus was present on Earth almost 2 million years ago and went extinct more than 110,000 years ago;  Homo heidelbergensis is believed to have existed between 700,000 and 200,000 years ago;  Neanderthals about 800,000-30,000 years ago.  They all had a parallel existence with our Homo sapiens, during which some Neanderthals lived with and kissed our ancestors.

Research suggests that Homo sapiens seems to have an inherent ability to cope with climate change, so even though there may be a demographic loss, it has survived through difficult periods on Earth.  It is clear today that climate change - for which our own impacts play a large role - is still sufficiently damaging.  The evidence of the three extinct humans can be said to be a wake-up call.

Some previous works also provide evidence that diverse diets (eating a lot of fish and plants, not depending on meat like Neanderthals), and the ability to create flexible, proactive labor tools.  Migration actively has helped modern humans, Homo sapiens, to last longer than the rest of the genus in human species.
