Prada starts recover activities post lockdown

Prada reopened stores in Korea, Taiwan and China where it saw double-digit growth in April. In Europe the Milan-based luxury brand reopened some stores in Austria, Holland and Germany.

As Italy begins to ease its Covid-19 lockdown restrictions, the Milan-based luxury company partially reopened its production centers in Milan, Veneto, Tuscany, Marche, and Umbria since last week.

As required by Italy’s safety protocol, shorter hours with workers divided over several shifts to allow staggered access to the offices and implementing a distance of about two meters between individuals inside its offices and factories are strictly applied by Prada.

The Milan-based luxury company is taking measures to help protect its employees as distributing protective equipment including masks, gloves, and hand sanitizer to employees. The rooms are also being sanitized twice a day and nurses are on site to test employees for health and wellness.

Prada' employees will be tested on a monthly basis and the cost of the approximately 1000 tests per week will be covered by the Milan-based luxury company. Any employees who test positive will have the benefit of the screening process extended to their family.

The impact of a global lockdown, all stores are temporarily closed and delivering a late season made huge losses for the fashion companies especially the Milan-based luxury fashion companies and it will be hard for them to make up for 2020’s losses.
