1. Hurricane Ida

Hurricane Ida hit Japan on September 24, 1960 with an initial speed of 321km / h.  However, the storm weakened gradually with winds of only 129km / h after reaching the Honsu island area, Japan.

The storm killed 1,296 people and injured another 1,138, making Ida the third most damaging storm in the country ever recorded, according to Japan's National Institute of Informatics.

The storm engulfed two villages in southeastern Japan and created 1,900 landslides.

2. Hurricane Nina

Hurricane Nina happened in 1975. It made landfall in China, disrupting the Banqiao Dam, resulting in massive floods that left the number of people killed between 171,000 and 229,000.

Hurricane Nina caused 189.5 mm of precipitation per hour.  It quickly became a natural disaster devastating the world's most populous country in just a few days.

3.  Typhoon Tip

Typhoon Tip appeared in 1979 near Micronesia, in the western Pacific.  It has broken every record of size and intensity in history.

On October 12, 1979, Typhoon Tip formed in the Pacific with winds of 305km / h, but when it reached the mainland of Honsu Island, it was only 130 km / h.  Typhoon Tip created 600 landslides in Japan, destroyed 22,000 homes and left 86 people dead.

4.  Typhoon Megi

CNN said, Typhoon Megi is one of the biggest storms on the planet since 2005. The storm made landfall on the northeastern part of Luzon, Philippines, in 2010, with a speed of 225km / h.

After landing in the Philippines, Typhoon Megi weakened gradually, but returned strongly in the South China Sea.  The typhoon raged in three countries, the Philippines, Vietnam and China, with an estimated damage of 693.7 million USD.
Megi is the only super typhoon in 2010.

5.  Typhoon Haiyan

Typhoon Haiyan made landfall in the Philippines in early November 2013, with a power of 280-285km / h.  The typhoon caused the largest loss of life in Philippine history in recent times, with 6,300 deaths.
