The Bigwin Island Club Cabins 
Bigwin Island Club Cabins are eco friendly holiday homes designed by Mackay-Lyons Sweetapple Architects for an upscale resort island in Ontario’s Muskoka region. These contemporary holiday homes are a part of a planned community in an island Chief John Bigwin in the Lake of Bays which is 260 kilometres to the north of Toronto. 
The Bigwin island has been a favorite holiday home family retreat that many individuals and families come to every summer. The island has been revitalised in recent years after years of disuse in the 20th century. The project of building 40 cabins is carried out with holiday home design concept in Bigwin Island – an island dotted with maple, pine and ash trees.
The company decides to introduce three models, taking cues from varying landscape conditions. One features the pinwheel plan and the two others employ the linear model. The outside walls are wrapped in shiplap wooden boards and large stretches of glass while the hip roof is cedar shingles. The holiday homes design engages with not only the landscapes but also with the neighbouring homes to create a sense of community. Bigwin Island Club Cabins are an ideal location for a holiday home family retreat that you should add to your family list.
