Surprisingly, some European destinations have made it to the top 10 of the global ranking. The top three most affordable holiday spots in Europe for 2024 are:

1. Algarve, Portugal

The southern region of the Algarve, known as the country’s Riviera, has been ranked as the most affordable summer destination in Europe. With its sun-soaked beaches and vibrant culture, the Algarve offers a total price of 69.90 euros for the essential items.

2. Sunny Beach, Bulgaria

Located on the Black Sea Coast, Sunny Beach is a popular nightlife destination that also offers easy access to cultural sites such as Nessebar. The eight-item basket in Sunny Beach costs 73.17 euros, making it the second most affordable holiday spot in Europe.

3. Paphos, Cyprus

Known as the birthplace of the Greek goddess of love, Aphrodite, Paphos is a city rich in history and culture. With its ancient theatres, palaces, and tombs, Paphos offers a unique holiday experience. The cost of the essential items in Paphos is 85.86 euros, making it the third most affordable holiday spot in Europe.
