Reebok Reveals Concepts for the ‘Fitness Masks of the Future’ to support the health and wellness of athletic community.

These three “Fitness Mask of the Future” conceptual designs were created in a joint effort with expert analysis including that from Dr. Emily Krauss, clinical assistant professor at Stanford Children’s Orthopedic and Sports Medicine Center.

These masks do not aim at protecting the wearer from bacteria or viruses, but at restricting airflow to help simulate high altitudes to help improve cardiorespiratory fitness levels during exercise like breathability, comfortability and ability to show facial expression.

The Reebok Sensoral Mask looks like a regular face mask with a clean panel for breathability and expression that is designed with a transparent front so that your mouth can be seen. This mask could also come equipped with technology to monitor the user’s heart and breathing rates.

The Reebok Immersion mask covers the entire front of the wearer’s face with an astronaut-style shield best for running an outdoor activity with a built-in respirator and is designed to help protect the wearer from the elements, while still allowing them to breathe.

This design's idea is using organic matter that will help purify the air for the wearer by taking in carbon dioxide and releasing oxygen and also help to filter out dangerous particles from pollution, bacteria, and viruses. Moreover, this mask design could lead to further create technological innovations that connect the wearer to fitness app integrations and more.
