MONET'S PRECIOUS PAINTING IS ABOUT TO BE AUCTIONED FOR ABOUT $40 MILLION
Claude Monet's painting from the famous Water Lilies series is about to be auctioned in New York, USA, for about $40 million.
The painting of Le Bassin aux Nympheas by Claude Monet is "one of the iconic images and famous of impressionist" according to the auction house Sotheby's.
The 1mx2m painting was painted by the artist Claude Monet from 1917-1919. This artwork will be part of the auction house's sale of modern art and impressionist art on May 12.

Previously, this unique artwork was introduced in Taipei, Taiwan on April 26 then returned to Sotheby's auction house in the US city to exhibit from May 1.
This artwork is part of the series of Grandes Decorations paintings that draw a lilies pond by Monet in Giverny, France.
This series of artworks started by the French artist in 1914 was groundbreaking in his near-abstract processing with water surfaces and reflections on the water's surface.
Monet's lilies in a peaceful pond paitings go in a whole new direction, and these artworks are twice as large as the artist's previous lilies artworks.
According to Julian Dawes, Representative for the auctioneer Sotheby's New York, Claude Monet is one of the most popular and beloved artists of all time, and Le Bassin aux Nympheas represents a perfect example of his famous Water Lilies painting series.
Sotheby's New York is also the place to hold the auction record for "Meules" artwork in the artist Monet's "Haystacks" artwork series for $110 million in 2019.
