The demand for tourist establishments in Portugal has remained strong, with a 24% decrease in properties for sale on idealista compared to the same period last year. Despite this decrease, there are still 136 properties with tourist licenses available for sale in the country, with the majority located in the districts of Faro, Porto, and Lisbon.

After experiencing a decline in disinvestment during the pandemic, the trend reversed in 2023 and gained momentum at the beginning of 2024. The market is currently seeing a concentration of tourist buildings for sale in Faro (26 units), Porto (19), and Lisbon (16), with additional properties available in Setúbal, Portalegre, Braga, and Viseu.

Interestingly, there has been a reduction in the stock of tourist accommodations in 11 out of the 20 districts and islands analyzed, with the largest drops seen in Lisbon, Faro, Coimbra, and Viseu. On the other hand, there has been an increase in the supply of hotel establishments in six districts, most notably in Beja, Viana do Castelo, and São Miguel.
