Etihad Airways and TAP Air Portugal have announced a strategic codeshare agreement, aimed at providing enhanced connectivity for passengers and opening up exciting new destinations. This collaboration is part of Etihad’s efforts to bolster Abu Dhabi’s cultural and economic growth, offering improved travel benefits and a wider range of experiences for travelers.

Etihad Airways and TAP Air Portugal have announced a strategic codeshare agreement, aimed at providing enhanced connectivity for passengers of both airlines across a range of destinations within each other’s networks. This collaboration is part of Etihad’s efforts to bolster Abu Dhabi’s cultural and economic growth by attracting more visitors to the city, offering them improved travel benefits and a wider range of experiences.

Through this partnership, Etihad’s customers will have seamless access to a diverse selection of destinations within the TAP network. These include popular cities such as Rio de Janeiro and São Paulo in Brazil, as well as San Francisco and Miami in the USA. Additionally, passengers can also explore the picturesque African island of São Tomé, as well as connect with European cities like Madeira, Malaga, Seville, and Valencia, and African destinations such as Marrakech and Dakar.

The codeshare agreement will enable travelers to streamline their journeys by making a single booking with a unified check-in process and the added convenience of having their baggage seamlessly transferred to their final destination. Furthermore, this collaboration follows the launch of Etihad’s non-stop services to Lisbon earlier this year and will allow both Etihad and TAP customers to connect to each other’s network through Frankfurt and London Heathrow.

In addition to facilitating connections to Etihad’s network, this partnership will make it easier for visitors to travel to Abu Dhabi, offering a wide range of attractions from the architectural marvel of the Louvre Abu Dhabi to thrilling experiences at Ferrari World Abu Dhabi. The new codeshare agreement is set to come into effect from 5 December 2023, providing travelers with increased accessibility and convenience.
