Unique design for nature lovers
Designed by Dutch architect Koen Olthuis of Waterstudio.nl, Arkup is a unique floating house made from Olthuis charitable focus on future living environments and sea level challenges as well as the needs of the booming world population. It consists of 4 bedrooms (each room is equipped with a private bathroom).
Ranked 122nd in TIME Magazines list - the list of the most influential people in the world, Olthuis, and his company specialize in floating buildings and houses. His native Netherlands (through the use of improved dykes, the Netherlands was built primarily on wetlands) with one-third of reclaimed land and below sea level, so water problems are the challenges that he is very interested in.
Launched at the recent Miami Ycaht Exhibition, the Arkup # 1 floating house prides itself on using solar energy, stabilizing hydraulic floor houses and its own engines. Hydraulic floor housing is an innovative self-elevating system that can go down 20 feet to lift it up on waves, keeping you and your home safe during a storm. Just say, if you happen to be caught far from the shore during a storm or a catastrophic tsunami event, Arkup is a boathouse, it will float on big waves.
Arkup # 1 is also designed to withstand a level 4 storm (winds up to 250 km / h) and carries stories of solar storage in a 1,000 kWh battery pack for energy needs at night as well as the system that collects rainwater for moderate water self-sufficiency.
A pair of 100kW engines with a capacity of 272 hp can move the Arkup luxury boathouse up to 7 knots, allowing its owner to escape the destruction of the climate disaster.
