United Airlines Expands Over 100 New Summer Flights to U.S. and Canada

United Airlines responds to increased demand for outdoor destinations with its largest schedule to Alaska in a decade and significant expansion of flights between the U.S. and Canada.

United Airlines has announced a significant expansion of its summer flight schedule, with over 100 new flights to various cities in the U.S. and Canada. The move aims to cater to the increased demand from travelers seeking outdoor and scenic destinations, such as national parks and mountain towns. The airline expects this trend to continue and is flying its largest schedule to Alaska in the past decade, as well as significantly expanding its flying between the U.S. and Canada.

The partnership between United and Air Canada has also contributed to this growth, with United customers now able to connect to 25 more Canadian cities on Air Canada, while enjoying the benefits of the carriers’ loyalty programs.

This summer, United will strengthen its position as the largest U.S. carrier to Canada, offering the most flights to the most destinations. The airline will serve nine Canadian cities with more than 150 daily average flights between the U.S. and Canada, including the resumption of flights between Halifax-Newark/New York, Vancouver-Washington, D.C, Winnipeg-Denver, and service from Chicago to Winnipeg and Quebec City, all starting in May.

In addition, United will offer 10 daily flights to Alaska on average this summer – the most in over a decade. The airline will introduce the only nonstop flight from Washington, D.C. to Anchorage, serving Anchorage from Washington/Dulles and Fairbanks from Denver.

United will also offer something new for flyers out of all seven of its U.S. hubs this summer, adding over 100 new flights. Denver and Houston will each have over 40 new North American flights, while Washington, D.C. and Chicago will each have more than 20 new flights.

As Denver’s largest airline, United will offer more than 500 daily departures this summer and more than 100 routes will be on mainline aircraft – the most in more than 20 years. Houston will resume nonstop service between Houston and Ontario, California in May 2024 for the first time since 2022, and plans to fly 100 routes with dual cabin aircraft this summer. Windy City residents will have access to over 500 daily nonstop flights, including 20 new flights and resumed service to two Canadian cities. United customers in Washington/Dulles will be able to fly nonstop to Alaska for the first time with new daily service to Anchorage on a Boeing 737 MAX 8.
